Children Education Project
Our commitment to education as a transformative force is exemplified through our Children Education project. Dedicated to the young minds of displaced Ukrainians, we strive to provide educational resources and support, ensuring that the children maintain a connection to their cultural roots while adapting to life in a new environment.
Education is a fundamental right for all children, regardless of their origin. In Romania, access to education for migrant and refugee children is guaranteed under the same conditions as for Romanian citizens, according to the law. However, many of these children face difficulties in exercising this right. Sometimes, schooling is hindered by discriminatory attitudes from school management or teachers.
Additionally, teachers are not always qualified to teach in a language other than the national language, and preparatory language courses are not always intensive or long enough to enable children to acquire the necessary language skills for the education system of the host country.
Appropriate projects and policies aim to improve access to education for these children, ensuring they have equal opportunities for learning and development.
“Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time and always start with the person nearest you.”

The importance of diversity in education
Investing in the education of these young souls is an investment in the future, fostering resilience and hope in the face of adversity.
This is why we, at the Road to Life Association, place great emphasis on children's education. The projects we run or support is Romanian and english classec, such as the Ukrainian Kindergarten, cooking workshops, carpentry workshops, music, reading, and soon IT classes, all this activites are designed to keep the children engaged in their free time.
These activities also help them cope with the burden of being separated from their country, friends, and the ordinary life they had in Ukraine. Our goal is to develop various skills in the children, but most importantly, we want to be their friends, showing them the love and compassion of Christ.
Important results
After a year of conducting these activities, we were amazed by the results. Through conversations with children and adolescents, we discovered that these activities have a significant impact on their integration and adaptation in Romania.
Children as young as 7 years old in the carpentry workshop have acquired practical skills in working with wood. This achievement is particularly remarkable for young children, as well as for those with autism or post-war trauma. The skills they have gained will be beneficial in their daily lives and may even inspire some to pursue a career in the wood industry, which is highly valued in both Romania and Ukraine, countries rich in forests.
In the coming period, we aim to expand our Romanian and English language courses to include not only children and adolescents but also adults. We will conduct these courses in an intensive format to help participants overcome language barriers more effectively.
